There are many different data destruction methods out there, but one must first consider why and how they want this data destroyed. If you are reselling a computer, you will probably want to wipe the hard drive clean (and NO, formatting a hard drive will NOT wipe all, actually almost no data at all, from the storage device), and reinstall the OS to sell the computer.
